My Approach

/in.teˈɡraː.lis/: Containing all parts necessary to be complete

I believe that in order to achieve harmony within our relationship to self and others, the different aspects of our beings need to be nurtured and balanced. Wellness within all parts of ourselves is necessary to achieve wholeness. The lens through which I understand and approach mental wellness is integrative, and considerate of these different dimensions of our shared human experience.

Harmony - Therapy Integralis Psychotherapy - Toronto, Ontario

Holistic Wellness Model

I approach mental wellness through mind-body-soul-spirit integration. Through this, we are able to explore the interrelatedness of these different facets of our shared human experience and their impact on how we feel, think, and behave. Self-awareness helps us to identify our strengths and opportunities for growth in each of these dimensions, and moves us toward achieving a sense of wholeness.

Anti-Oppressive, Anti-Colonial, and Trauma-Informed Therapy - Therapy Integralis - Holistic Therapy Toronto

Anti-Oppressive, Anti-Colonial, and Trauma-Informed

The ways in which we experience ourselves in relationship to others, and the world is impacted by how we interact with various societal systems. We explore these dynamics of relating through an anti-oppressive lens, which considers how race, gender, sexual orientation, class, religion, and collective trauma (shared reaction to a traumatic event experienced by a group of people) impact our lived experience and its relationship to mental wellness. This helps us to process and deepen our understanding of past and current experiences, and to liberate ourselves from oppressive forces that may be impacting our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

Evidence-based psychotherapy - Therapy Integralis, Toronto Counselling and Therapy

Integrative Therapeutic Approach

My clinical approach is informed by a variety of theories of human growth and change. Psychoanalytic theory provides me with my fundamental understanding of human psychology, and the underlying dynamics that may be contributing to disruptions in our sense of wellbeing. I draw from evidence-based psychotherapeutic models such as Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy while journeying with clients working toward achieving a more meaningful and fulfilling life. The principles of positive psychology, somatics (body work), mindfulness, and strength-based approaches also inspire my practice.
